Moonix AI Glasses Go on Sale: 14.9g "Subtraction," Cutting Translation and Teleprompter to Focus on "Recording"

AI wearable brand Moonix announced its first product, the Moonix AI Glasses Standard, went on global sale on July 17. Turning heads since its April Silicon Valley debut for being 14.9g ultra-light, it now moves from the geek niche to mass consumers. Four frame materials launch together — β-titanium, nano-nylon, acetate and stainless steel — priced from RMB 2,299, with the β-titanium as light as 14.9g and temples as thin as 4mm, a clear edge over the typical 40g+ smart glasses and on par with many rimless/semi-rimless optical frames.

Product philosophy: wearability is the "1," features are the "0s"

Xinmou Technology president Guo Yuchen repeatedly stressed: "Wearability is the leading 1; features are the trailing 0s. Without the 1, any number of features multiplies to 0." So the team rejected "feature stacking," pushing structural and process breakthroughs while keeping core functions, and adopting a quick-swap modular temple design with 39+ interchangeable frames at launch to lower cost and friction.

Subtraction: cut low-frequency features, focus on "recording"

Moonix deliberately dropped translation, teleprompter and navigation — "common in the industry but rarely used" — concentrating hardware and algorithms on "ambient recording": the device periodically captures surroundings and state, running proactively; when needed, a button starts continuous recording with permissions fully in the user's hands, and AI organizes it into a personal database. Battery lasts ~16 hours with a multi-layer security scheme. Amid AI glasses that "pile on features," Moonix's "subtraction" is a differentiated path — get the "glasses" right first, then talk AI.
